100 Sight Words
Sight words are also called "instant words." These are words you cannot decode using phonics or rules. A child needs to know these high frequency words because they occur so often in text. The first one hundred words make up about fifty percent of all words we encounter in reading. Open and print the 100 Sight Words; place them on the refrigerator...wherever you can practice them easily with your child. Remember, it is practice that leads to mastery.
